Celebrating Earth Day in Action at Creation Village World School

Celebrating Earth Day in Action at Creation Village World School

At Creation Village World School, Earth Day is an opportunity to bring our mission of caring for creation to life through meaningful, hands-on experiences. This year, our campus came together for a dynamic day centered on stewardship, service, and sustainability, engaging students across all grade levels in purposeful learning.

The day began with a special Earth Day Chapel that set the tone for reflection and action. Students considered their role in caring for the environment while also recognizing community partners who are making a positive impact. This shared moment grounded the day in purpose and highlighted the importance of collective responsibility.

From there, learning moved beyond the classroom. Our Primary Years Programme students participated in a variety of hands-on activities both indoors and outdoors. From engaging in garden stewardship to taking part in a joyful duckling parade, students explored what it means to care for living things and better understand the ecosystems around them. These experiences encouraged curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper connection to the natural world.

Middle Years Programme students extended their learning into the community through environmental service projects across Celebration. Students worked to maintain butterfly gardens, clean and care for local green spaces, and contribute to sustainability efforts in meaningful ways. Through these activities, they connected their work to global challenges such as climate action and the protection of life on land and below water, reinforcing the relevance of their learning in a real-world context.

The celebration continued with a vibrant Color Run that brought energy and excitement to the day, followed by family activities and a community market. These moments created space for connection, allowing students, families, and community partners to come together in support of a shared mission.

Earth Day at Creation Village World School reflects the heart of the International Baccalaureate philosophy. Students are empowered to think globally, act responsibly, and understand the impact of their choices. Through inquiry, reflection, and action, they develop into learners who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world around them.

We are proud of our students for embracing this day with enthusiasm, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference.
