We are proud to announce that Creation Village World School has been awarded the Eco-Schools U.S. Bronze Award, a national recognition that celebrates our commitment to environmental stewardship, student leadership, and sustainability.

As part of the Eco-Schools U.S. program through the National Wildlife Federation, our school now joins a global network of thousands of schools working together to create a more sustainable and just world. This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, faculty, families, and community partners who have embraced sustainability as an essential part of learning.

Student Leadership Driving Positive Change

At Creation Village World School, sustainability is more than a lesson. It is an opportunity for students to become leaders and make a meaningful impact within their school and community.

Our Bronze certification recognized several student-led initiatives, including the creation of our Pollinator Garden and a permanent bamboo heart art installation. These projects encouraged students to think creatively while exploring environmental responsibility through hands-on, inquiry-based learning.

The Pollinator Garden was designed using native plants that support local pollinators while creating a thriving outdoor learning environment. Students worked alongside community partners to help plan, build, and maintain the space, gaining firsthand experience in conservation, ecology, and sustainable gardening.

Our bamboo heart art installation further reflected our commitment to environmental responsibility by incorporating sustainably sourced bamboo and recycled fabrics. Together, these projects demonstrate how creativity, collaboration, and service can inspire lasting environmental change.

Sustainability Through the IB Philosophy

These initiatives perfectly reflect the International Baccalaureate philosophy by encouraging students to become caring, knowledgeable, and principled individuals who take meaningful action in their communities.

Throughout these projects, students developed skills in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving while making authentic connections between science, environmental stewardship, the arts, and service learning. The integration of STEAM education allowed students to explore real-world challenges while creating solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Learning experiences like these empower students to understand that even small actions can have a lasting impact.

Recognized for Community Engagement

In its review, the Eco-Schools U.S. team commended Creation Village World School for its strong student leadership, community engagement, whole-school approach to sustainability, and meaningful integration of environmental stewardship and social-emotional learning.

The review also offered exciting opportunities for continued growth, including expanding the Pollinator Garden by conducting future audits of the different pollinator species visiting the habitat and continuing to strengthen partnerships throughout the Celebration community.

These recommendations will help guide the next phase of our sustainability journey as we continue building upon the strong foundation our students have created.

Looking Ahead

Receiving the Eco-Schools U.S. Bronze Award is an incredible milestone, but it is only the beginning.

We remain committed to fostering a culture where students are empowered to care for creation, serve their communities, and become thoughtful environmental leaders. Through inquiry, collaboration, and meaningful action, we will continue expanding opportunities for students to make a positive impact both on campus and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of every student, teacher, family member, and community partner who contributed to this achievement. Together, we are creating a brighter, more sustainable future.
