IB Career-related Programme Spotlight: AdventHealth Celebration Partnership

As part of the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IB CP) at Creation Village World School, our 11th Grade students are participating in a 12-week volunteer partnership with AdventHealth Celebration that intentionally integrates career exploration, service learning, and professional skill development.

Each Friday, students spend three hours on site engaging with a variety of hospital lines of service, gaining firsthand exposure to the systems, roles, and responsibilities that support patient care and organizational excellence within a healthcare environment.

CP Core Alignment in Action

This partnership is a strong example of the IB CP Core brought to life:

• Service Learning:
  Students engage in sustained, meaningful service that meets a genuine community need while developing empathy, responsibility, and a commitment to serving others.

• Personal & Professional Skills (PPS):
  Through workplace expectations, mentorship, and reflection, students build transferable skills such as communication, collaboration, time management, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.

• Reflective Practice:
  Students reflect on their experiences to better understand their strengths, interests, and growth areas, helping them make informed decisions about future career pathways and purposeful contribution.

Purnima Jagdeo, an 11th Grade IB CP student, stated, "volunteering at AdventHealth Celebration offers an opportunity for me to contribute to a service-oriented environment while gaining valuable insight into the coordination and operations of a large healthcare organization. This experience connects to the IB Career-related Programme by allowing me to apply service learning in a real-world setting while building skills such as collaboration, responsibility, and communication."
