The Primary School Experience

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 12 years. Rooted in the belief that education should foster well-rounded individuals with a global perspective, the PYP emphasizes inquiry-based learning, holistic development, and key skills such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Students explore six transdisciplinary themes connecting subjects to real-world issues while developing attributes of the IB Learner Profile: inquirers, thinkers, communicators, and principled individuals.

Special Primary School Traditions

Village Houses

Through our Learning Buddies tradition, students across grades form lasting relationships. Older and younger students collaborate monthly on projects, learning to lead, support, and grow together.

Integrated Trips

From historical explorations in St. Augustine to scientific discovery at AdventHealth, field trips connect classroom study to real-world experiences, inspiring curiosity and wonder.

End of Unit Presentations

At the end of each unit, students share their learning through exhibitions and creative presentations, building confidence and communication skills before an authentic audience.

5th Grade Exhibition

The culminating event of the PYP. Students engage in independent inquiry projects that demonstrate their academic growth, curiosity, and leadership within our learning community.
