From Our Garden to Market: Grade 3 Harvest

Our 3rd graders have been out in the garden with gloves on, digging sweet potatoes and picking armfuls of fresh basil for their End of Unit Celebration and Market. This week they turn the harvest into homemade pesto and other treats to sell at their market.

Along the way they’re learning across subjects: how supply and demand set a price, how to plan and use resources well, and how sustainable agriculture lets the land keep giving year after year. Most of all, they’re seeing God’s abundance up close, from a seed in the soil to a table to share.
