World Peace Day and Buddy Day bring our Houses together

Our River Hawks celebrated World Peace Day through creativity, reflection, collaboration and student voice.
Across campus, each House created and displayed a peace flag, filling the village with student expressions of hope and unity. The celebration also included a musical performance, student poetry readings and presentations from our ninth graders.
Buddy Day
On Buddy Day, students from our MYP Houses teamed up with PYP students to create artwork for World Peace Day, sharing ideas about what peace, unity and community mean to them. Our older students stepped into leadership roles, encouraging their younger buddies, listening to their perspectives and helping turn their ideas into something they made together.
These moments reflect the IB idea of student leadership: it is not about being in charge, but about communicating, collaborating, showing empathy and taking action in our community. Building a more peaceful world can begin with how we treat and understand one another.
